Business Problem

The Adobe Illustrator team was building a web version of their software, which had been a marquee desktop application for several years. I was tasked with evaluating the existing onboarding process of Ai web (Beta) and re-design an apropos onboarding and learning experience for first-time users (FTUs) of Adobe Illustrator web aka Project Venus.

Findings

An Attribute : Sub-Attribute framework was created to chart out the onboarding practices across competitor applications, and was implemented through a primary recommendation known as Splash Sensei.

Research

I initially conducted secondary research, and competitor analysis in conjunction with the ADRS (Adobe Design Research and Strategy) team. This was followed by remote surveying with a stratified sample of novice Illustrator users to determine the best learning practices and familiarity of design tools.

Impact

My findings were published in Adobe Goldmine (A repository of all Adobe research-work), and was also incorporated into the main-frame goals of Ai web (yet to be launched).
